Our sciatica exercise for this week is the Low Trunk Rotation Stretch! By doing the lower trunk rotation, you will be increasing flexibility in your lower back and hips, which will allow for greater mobility and rotation in the spine.
There are many reasons why someone may have back pain. However, one of the most common reasons is also one of the most well known: poor posture. Most people have been told since they were children how important posture is, and were probably reminded often to sit or stand up straight, stop slouching, or be careful how you bend. That last part is crucial, and this week's tip is going to focus on that with something we call The Hip Hinge.
As a truck driver, Jeff is always on the move, not only driving but also getting on and off trailers throughout the day. His back became sore over time, and he tried various other treatments for the pain but they weren't helping. Jeff discovered he was suffering from a bulging disc which was pinching his sciatic nerve and making it hard to walk much due to the pain. Jeff found out about the Illinois Back Institute and came to us for help.
