Our sciatica exercise for this week is Lunges! Lunges are very simple to do, and they are great because they strengthen your quads and hamstrings while also helping with your balance. This is important because the stronger these muscles are, the less likely you are to use your back when you lift objects, thus helping to prevent and relieve sciatica and back pain!
Much of the back pain that people suffer with is caused by not lifting objects correctly. One of the main ways this occurs is because people lift things immediately after getting up from a relaxed or prone position. Doing this can be very bad for your back. Too much activity after prolonged periods of sitting or lying down can result in back pain and potentially serious back problems.
