Back Pain Relief Tip: When Lifting Something Heavy, Beware The 10 Minute Rule!


Much of the back pain that people suffer with is caused by not lifting objects correctly. One of the main ways this occurs is because people lift things immediately after getting up from a relaxed or prone position. Doing this can be very bad for your back. Too much activity after prolonged periods of sitting or lying down can result in back pain and potentially serious back problems. So, if you have been off of your feet for a while, it is extremely important to wait at least 10 minutes once you stand up before picking anything up or doing anything aggressive, so that your spine will be prepared to lift.
