Roughly 8 in 10 people will experience a bout of lower back pain and in most cases it will not be due to a severe back problem or disease. This type of pain is known as nonspecific lower back pain. Usually the pain will go away on its own. However, if you find you are experiencing severe pain that is difficult to deal with, having other symptoms, or your pain is not subsiding with time, then it may be time for you to seek medical help.
