In this clip of WCIU’s You and Me This Morning Dr. Jeff brings Chicago Bear Super Bowl Champ and Illinois Back Institute patient Dan Hampton. After 12 years of football Dan Hampton’s body took a big beating. It came to a point where he couldn’t do much without being in constant pain. Dan’s wife, Gina, had been a patient of Illinois Back Institute a while back and she recommended Dan start doing therapy with us.
When Dan came in his MRI showed he was suffering with degenerated disc in his lower back and a pinched nerve in the neck. Dan thought he would never be normal again. Dan has had 16 different knee operations but his back pain was a different type of pain. He woke up every morning in pain knowing everything he did would worsen it.
At the Illinois Back Institute the process takes the pressure off the disc and slowly we are able to get people back on their feet and living a pain free lifestyle. Dan was also given different exercises and stretches to continue strengthening his back. Dan is now back to golfing and living his life pain free thanks to our treatment.
“When your back gets into a situation where you’re having to deal with constant pain and you think well this is the way it’s going to be the rest of my life, it’s not. You can go see these folks! They can make you, you know, go back and wind back the clock,” said Dan Hampton.
