There are many causes for lower right back pain, including both overuse and under use of back muscles, bad posture and sleeping positions. Lower right back pain can occur simply because many of us, about 70 to 90 percent worldwide, are right-handed. Since right-handers tend to do more chores and strenuous activity with emphasis on our right side, we’re prone to injuring and stressing the lower right area of our backs, resulting in pain.

Weeding – Bending and twisting over at the waist for extended periods is a good way to strain your back muscle and cause you back pain. Go to your local department or hardware store and purchase a rubber gardening mat and or a wheeled gardening stool. Use the rubber gardening mat to kneel on. Use the wheeled gardening stool to sit on while weeding or you can sit directly on the ground. Try not to bend over for too long. Always take breaks and stretch! Don’t forget to keep your gardening tools close at hand!
