The Illinois Back Institute treats and eliminates back pain, by focusing on the cause of the pain. And we do it without any drugs, injections, or surgery! Some of the conditions that we treat include:
▪︎ Herniated Discs
▪︎ Bulging Discs
▪︎ Degenerated Discs
If you are suffering with back or neck pain, either from one of these conditions or something else, we can help! Your first step is to schedule a Free Consultation, where you will meet with a Patient Advocate who will answer your questions, review your case, and determine your correct course of treatment.
There is no obligation, and the consultation is completely free!
Our sciatica exercise for this week is the Lower Abdomen Stretch, otherwise known as the Sphinx! This stretch is going to help stretch your abdominals while also assisting in pushing a bulging disc back into place. This is a manual way to try and decrease your sciatica symptoms that are being caused by a disc bulging onto a nerve.
Much of the back pain that people suffer with is caused by not lifting objects correctly. One of the main ways this occurs is because people lift things immediately after getting up from a relaxed or prone position. Doing this can be very bad for your back. Too much activity after prolonged periods of sitting or lying down can result in back pain and potentially serious back problems.
Kandy's biggest passion is her horses. She loves everything about them, including riding and spending time with them. But her back pain was preventing her from being able to do all of the activities with her horses that she used to do. Other tasks became difficult as well, such as bringing the groceries from her car inside the house. Kandy tried chiropractors, acupuncture, and much more but nothing was working. Thinking this was how she was going to live for the rest of her life, Kandy almost gave up. Fortunately for her she did not lose hope, and she found the Illinois Back Institute.
In the first part of this series, we discussed what a Bulging Disc is. The next question is, what causes them? Earlier we mentioned how Bulging Discs occur when the disc deteriorates for some reason. There are two main reasons for this, which we are going to discuss now.
