The Illinois Back Institute treats and eliminates back pain, by focusing on the cause of the pain. And we do it without any drugs, injections, or surgery! Some of the conditions that we treat include:
▪︎ Herniated Discs
▪︎ Bulging Discs
▪︎ Degenerated Discs
If you are suffering with back or neck pain, either from one of these conditions or something else, we can help! Your first step is to schedule a Free Consultation, where you will meet with a Patient Advocate who will answer your questions, review your case, and determine your correct course of treatment.
There is no obligation, and the consultation is completely free!
Did you know that Illinois Back Institute goes Live on our Facebook page several times each week? During these videos we discuss topics such as educational information about back pain and sciatica, some of our patient outcomes, questions that people might have, and more!
Our sciatica exercise for this week is the Piriformis Stretch! The piriformis muscle runs close to the sciatic nerve so it can irritate the nerve and cause sciatic pain. When the piriformis muscle becomes tight and/or inflamed it can irritate the sciatic nerve. This can lead to a tingling and numbness that runs from the lower back all the way down the leg and even into your foot. It is very important to stretch the piriformis muscle if you are suffering from sciatica.
Most people stand at their sinks several times a day for some reason, whether it be to brush or floss your teeth, wash dishes, prepare meals, or maybe something else. Because this is such a common practice, it should not come as a surprise that it is a major cause of back pain! This is because when many people do these simple everyday tasks, they are doing them wrong!
One of Jinky’s biggest passions was playing with her children, but her back pain was preventing her from being able to. It was also affecting her work, so she knew the pain had to get taken care of. At first Jinky was thinking surgery was the only way to be rid of the pain, but then she found the Illinois Back Institute and she decided we were a better option.
This week's Diet Tip about foods that can help relieve your back pain is Pineapple! For health benefits it is one of the best foods around, because it contains several key substances that can have a huge positive effect on your body. Pineapple has not only shown to reduce back pain, but it also decreases the inflammation in muscles and joints that can cause arthritis, helps with digestion, boosts the immune system, helps blood pressure and circulation, can even help prevent cancer, and more!
