Our sciatica exercise for this week is the Hamstring Stretch! It is extremely important to have adequate hamstring flexibility so that you can improve your body mechanics and posture. If your hamstrings are too tight, it can alter those mechanics and affect your Sciatica pain.
Getting out of bed is something that almost everyone does on a daily basis. It seems simple enough for most people, but anyone who is suffering with back problems know that even the tasks that seem the easiest can be some of the most challenging. For people with back, neck, or sciatica pain, just getting out of bed can not only be difficult, but extremely painful. The Back Pain Relief Tip for this week is about the proper way to get out of bed so that you do not put extra pressure on the spine and cause more pain.
While helping to move a dishwasher out of the house, Raj suffered a back injury that lead to severe pain and sciatica. It caused numbness down the leg that was so intense that he could not walk or stand, and most of his days consisted of him laying in bed. In fact, he was taking 1000 mg of painkillers every six hours because the pain was so bad. Raj didn't want to have surgery, and was looking for other options when he found the Illinois Back Institute.
