Our sciatica exercise for this week is the Foam Roll Massage for the Hamstring! Hamstrings can become extremely tight while compensating for one’s posture, and this can often place a severe strain on the lower back. This stretch will promote more blood flow to the area to increase the healing. It also increases extensibility of the hamstring muscle. The foam roll also massages your sciatic nerve because it runs close to the hamstring muscle.
Getting out of bed is something that almost everyone does on a daily basis. It seems simple enough for most people, but anyone who is suffering with back problems know that even the tasks that seem the easiest can be some of the most challenging. For people with back, neck, or sciatica pain, just getting out of bed can not only be difficult, but extremely painful. The Back Pain Relief Tip for this week is about the proper way to get out of bed so that you do not put extra pressure on the spine and cause more pain.
David had been suffering with chronic lower back pain for almost 30 years. He turned to pain medications, physical therapy, and traditional chiropractors but none of those stopped his chronic back pain. David came into the Illinois Back Institute and now his pain level is a zero!
A pinched nerve in the back is when you suffer from pain or weakened function from a nerve that is under pressure of some sort. In other words, the nerve is being compressed, and that compression is causing pain in your back. This can happen to nerves that control muscle movements or transmit sensations to the brain.
