Our sciatica exercise for this week is the Hamstring Stretch! It is extremely important to have adequate hamstring flexibility so that you can improve your body mechanics and posture. If your hamstrings are too tight, it can alter those mechanics and affect your Sciatica pain.
There are many reasons why someone may have back pain. However, one of the most common reasons is also one of the most well known: poor posture. Most people have been told since they were children how important posture is, and were probably reminded often to sit or stand up straight, stop slouching, or be careful how you bend. That last part is crucial, and this week's tip is going to focus on that with something we call The Hip Hinge.
In 1984 Raymond Smith injured his back on the job. Raymond started going to numerous doctors to find a solution to his back pain, and he was prescribed pain medicine and given cortisone shots. Raymond’s MRI showed he was suffering from a herniated disc and degenerated disc disease, and his doctors recommended that he go ahead with back surgery. He wanted to avoid that, so when he saw a commercial for Illinois Back Institute he decided to give us a try.
The Bulging Disc, sometimes referred to as a disc protrusion or slipped disc, is one of the most common causes of back pain. This is because when a person begins to have a breakdown in one of their discs for whatever reason, a bulging of the disc is usually the first phase of that breakdown. Most people have heard of the various terms used to refer to a Bulging Disc, but many don't really know or understand what it is. It is important for any kind of back pain to know the source of that pain, because it has been scientifically proven that the more a patient understands about the source of their pain, the better the outcome of their treatment will be.
