Our sciatica stretch for this week is the Piriformis Foam Roll Massage. One of the symptoms caused by sciatica includes buttock pain, and we target that area using the foam roll along with this stretch. This stretch is going to increase the extensibility of your tissue and promote more blood flow to the target area, which will in turn promote more healing. It is also good for your balance.

When David came into the Illinois Back Institute, he was in tears because of the pain. He was suffering with a herniated disc in his back. His job requires him to lift heavy objects, and over time his back would hurt more and more until one day it was difficult for him to even get out of bed. David went to see his doctor who prescribed painkillers for him to take, but they didn't help much. He then tried going to a chiropractor, which he feels made his back pain worse. David feared that his back pain would leave him disabled and he would no longer be able to run and play with his son.
There are 5 causes of Sciatica that we are going to discuss. These are all related to the spine so it is very important that we first know what the spine is and how it works. It requires a little understanding but it is not complicated in the least, and it is important that we do understand it because when you understand the spine you will be better prepared to treat it.
