Herniated Disc Part 8: How We Treat Herniated Discs

Posted by Illinois Back Institute on Fri, Jul 17, 2015 @ 04:13 PM

Herniated_Disc8This is Part 8 in our series about Herniated Discs. If you missed Part 7, Click Here!

In Part 7 we discussed our treatment, Functional Disc Rehydration. We showed how it works and talked about why it is so successful compared to other traditional treatments. Our treatment is so effective because it takes the pressure off of the damaged and herniated disc, which allows oxygen and nutrients to re-enter the disc. This "rehydrates" the disc, and heals it. Our treatment can even cause the nucleus that has leaked out of the disc to return to the inside, thus eliminating the herniation completely!

Remember, the study that we commissioned showed that:

  • All patients experienced disc rehydration of at least 18 percent after just one Functional Disc Rehydration treatment!
  • 10 weeks of therapy resulted in rehydration of 80 percent!
  • Every patient in the study experienced a complete elimination of their Herniated Disc!

In order to help you better understand just how our treatment works so well, we are going to discuss and show you how we have been able to completely eliminate Herniated Discs from some of our patients.

The picture above shows the difference between a healthy disc and a herniated one. The healthy disc looks full and thick, almost like a rubber cushion, and the herniated disc has a portion of the nucleus leaking out from inside of the disc, which often pushes against a nerve and can cause severe pain. Here is a picture of one of our patients when they first entered our clinic:

You can see the nucleus of the disc leaking out almost like a bubble. This patient had already had fusion surgery that was supposed to fix their herniated disc, but it failed, and the herniation is still there. After undergoing treatment at our clinic, this is how the disc looked:

As you can see, the "bubble" of the herniated disc is completely gone! With our treatment, we were able to get the damaged disc the oxygen and nutrients that it needed to reverse the herniation to the point that it was completely gone.

Here is another example from one of our patients who had one of the largest Herniated Discs we had ever seen. This is what it looked like when they first came to see us:

The herniation was so large that it pushed out over halfway into the spinal canal. This is what it looked like after Functional Disc Rehydration treatment:

We were able to completely repair the herniation and eliminate the patient's back pain completely! Here are the before and after MRI's from another of our patients who came to us with two herniated discs:

With our treatment we are even able to treat more than one herniated disc at a time. And as you can tell from the MRI, both herniated discs were eliminated.

Our treatment has been shown over and over again to be able to repair Herniated Discs and return the disc to a healthy state. Part 9 will continue our discussion showing how our treatment eliminates Herniated Discs!
