25 years ago Vito Pelletiere suffered from a herniated disc and was sent to the hospital. The doctors put him on bed rest but the pain never went away. Since his injury the pain has been on and off. Recently Vito’s sciatic nerve had been acting up causing him excruciating pain at night and in the morning. Often a herniated disc in the lower back can cause pain and numbness down the leg and in the buttocks, which is called sciatica. Sciatica is the most common symptom of a herniated disc in the lower back.
Vito has been in the restaurant business for 45 years cooking pizzas and now is semi-retired and doing work on his farm. The farm work requires Vito to do a lot of physical labor and he needed him back strong to keep his farm afloat. The prospect of surgery scared Vito & he did not want to have to take pain pills. Vito then heard Dan Hampton’s testimonial and thought if it worked for Dan it could work for him.
When Vito came into the Illinois Back Institute his pain level was at an 8 or 9. He couldn’t do a lot of walking or lifting causing him to not be able to farm or work. Vito could not put pressure on his left leg or foot. Now after only 3 months of treatment Vito’s pain level is at 0.5. He is feeling great and is doing daily exercises to strengthen his spine and core. Now he can pretty much do everything he needs to in his daily life.
