Carol Gonzalez was suffering from severe spinal stenosis for around 3 years before her friend recommended giving Illinois Back Institute a try. Before coming in Carol tried epidural shots and therapy but both were not fixing the problem. Epidural shots only relieve symptoms for only a short period of time.
Carol’s pain from her spinal stenosis was making her very depressed. She is a very active person and couldn’t stand having to live a sedentary lifestyle. Stenosis is a condition where the openings in the spine get smaller. The problem of stenosis is the openings can get smaller and pinch your spinal cord or spinal nerves. Compressed nerves in the spine can cause pain or cramping in your legs when you stand for long periods of time or when you walk. Her stenosis would only allow her to walk around 15 minutes before the pain was too much to handle.
- “Somebody told me about (Illinois Back Institute) and said that it was better than surgery so I came last November, December, January and by February I was back to dancing and I can bowl again. I can do housework. I can walk up and down the stairs. It’s given me back my life!” Carol
At the Illinois Back Institute our treatment was able to reverse stenosis by taking the pressure off the spine with Functional Disc Rehydration. This then allowed oxygen and nutrients into a disc’s nucleus. Then we were able to focus on reintegrating and reactivating the muscles by strengthening and stabilizing the spine. Carol now no longer suffers from spinal stenosis and is pain free! She is living her active lifestyle and is back to tearing up the dance floor.
- “Do this before anything else, even an epidural! That did nothing and it was painful!” Carol
