Illinois Back Institute patient and employee, Aaron Berry, injured his back while playing basketball with his friends. Before his injury he never suffered from any type of back pain. The next day morning after Aaron injured his back he could barely move! He ended up spending days in his bed unable to walk or even stand up straight.
Aaron came into the Illinois Back Institute and we immediately sent him for an MRI. His MRI showed massive herniated disc in his l4 l5. A herniated disc is one of the most common causes of back discomfort in adults, yet it remains one of the least understood sources of chronic pain. Sometimes, using your back muscles to lift large, heavy objects can lead to a herniated disc, as can twisting and turning while lifting. A traumatic event such as a fall or a blow to the back can cause a herniated disc; in Aaron’s case basketball was that event.

Aaron has been out of treatment for almost a year and is now pain free & feeling great! Aaron continues to work at our Wheaton clinic showing patients they can too get better through our treatment.
