Is Your Heavy Golf Bag Causing You Back Pain & Hurting Your Game?

Posted by Dr. Jeff Winternheimer D.C. on Fri, Jun 15, 2012 @ 02:44 PM

golfing with back painCarrying any heavy bag strains your posture and is a common cause of back pain. Having a golf bag overloaded with clubs can weigh as much as 35 pounds. Limit the weight of any bag you carry to no more than 10% of your body weight. If you can’t lighten your bag protect your back by using a pull-cart bag on the golf course and by buying the lightest golf bag that you can. Make sure to do stretching exercises before and after your golf game to help prevent back pain.
