The Dangers of Using Painkillers For Chronic Back Pain!

Posted by Dr. Jeff Winternheimer D.C. on Mon, May 07, 2012 @ 07:06 PM

Prescription drugs kill twice as many people as cocaine and five times as many as heroin! In 2008 prescription painkiller overdoses killed nearly 15,000 people in the United States. A recent study has shown the misuse of prescription painkillers is on a rise in Chicago suburbs. One of the most common causes of painkiller addictions is chronic back pain.

There are two types of prescription painkillers that doctors prescribe for patients with chronic back pain; Opioids & Muscle Relaxants. These are extremely powerful and strong drugs. Due to their addictive nature, physicians tend to prescribe these medications only in extreme cases. This leaves many people with chronic back pain -- and often their doctors -- stuck in the middle. On the one hand, they're fearful of the risks of addiction that come with powerful painkillers. On the other, they're suffering from severe pain and need some kind of help.

New Call to action

At the Illinois Back Institute we relieve your chronic back pain without the use of drugs! Illinois Back Institute founder, Dr. Jeff developed a non-surgical, natural treatment to live pain-free. The treatment that Dr. Jeff and the Illinois Back Institute have created is called Functional Disc Rehydration. Essentially, this innovative treatment is the first to actually reverse disc degeneration and truly provide a stronger, healthier back. In 2007, people ranging in age from 39 to 83 years were selected to participate in a study (conducted by a PAC-10 University) to show how effective Functional Disc Rehydration can be.  The patients all had chronic back pain and had tried chiropractic care, acupuncture, surgery and medicine. After receiving one treatment of Functional Disc Rehydration, every patient experienced disc rehydration of at least 18 percent.  Long-term therapies of 10 weeks produced 80 percent rehydration of the disc. The statistics overwhelmingly prove that Functional Disc Rehydration does indeed help reverse a degenerated disc, thereby ending back pain. Dr. Jester confirmed the results as well: “I was pleasantly surprised at the results of the MRI scans.  I have never seen rehydration first hand,” marveled Dr. Jester.
