tumeric_and_kale-1Tip #5 on our list of foods that can help with your back pain is a spice known as Turmeric. Most people know it as the main spice in the Indian food Curry; in fact Turmeric is what gives Curry its yellow color. The Indian people have been using it for thousands of years, not just as a spice but as a medicinal herb as well. Turmeric has many beneficial properties that can help not only with your back pain but other health problems as well. Some of these properties are:

  1. Turmeric is a very powerful anti-inflammatory substance. It has been found to be nearly as powerful as some anti-inflammation medications, and does not have the side effects that those medications might.
  2. It is a very strong antioxidant, which helps protect you from the bad "free radicals" in your body.
  3. Turmeric is also a natural painkiller, antiseptic, and antibacterial agent, and can actually help speed up healing.
