One of the things that I do every day is I look at news
or scientific information about back pain. And I like it somebody said that’s not a lie, but I really do like it. And I came across a study they did they evaluated patients they were chronic opioid users. And this is a very important topic in our culture right now, because the use of opioids is reaching epidemic proportions. And I found it interesting, so I'm going to share some of this data with you, again because I like it. So here we go, there were 122,00 deaths globally in 2015 from opioid use. 120,000, that’s a lot. There is currently, in 2017 in the United States there were 35,000. So, it’s going up. And we've talked about it in the past, its going up dramatically.
The use of opioids is dramatically on the rise, and people are dying.
And the one thing about, and we get a lot of patients that are taking opioids before they get our treatment, and I want to talk a little bit about that. We have the ability to address the issues in the disc. When you have back pain that’s not going away very often what they give you is they say oh we can help you, but you can take this pain medicine. The opioids. Because they can’t solve the problem in the disc, we can! And because we can, we can eliminate the source of your pain, and eliminate the need for the opioids, which is not really what this video is about, I just want to put it out there, because I think that we have a really good solution for opioid users, and maybe people aren't hearing about it. So, number one, 122,000 people die globally every year. And I'm sure it’s more this year. here’s a good fact right here, 1.3 million visits to the emergency room for opioid related issues in the United States, 3,500 a day! That’s unbelievable, I mean think about that, 3,500, that’s a lot of people. 150 of those die, as a result of the overdose.
They Are Highly Addictive
For every 1 day you take an opioid, you increase the chance of addiction by 1 percent. So, after 30 days, there is a 30$ chance which means 1/3. After 100 days there is a good chance you're going to be hooked. And nobody is immune because when that thing grabs a hold of you it does let go, now here’s a study I came across. Chronic opioid users, have a 33% relative increase and likelihood of. are peat spinal fusion within 1 year. So, people that get the fusion, there is a 33% likelihood that you're going to get another one if you're a chronic opioid user. It’s devastating. absolutely devastating, be aware, I've shown this picture before, this is the effect that we can have on the disc if you have a chronic back problem, you have a disc problem, there was a quote. NBC news Fromm a medical doctor. To fix the opioid crisis, doctors may have to let the patients be in pain.
They May Have To Let Their Patients Be In Pain
. Because they don't understand. They don't understand what can be done for the problem. We have a study coming out, a study of 1200 patient, of those 1200 patients, before they started with our therapy and they got better with our therapy, 1200 went through 1200 got 100 percent better, okay? For this study, 600 of them were taking narcotics. Opioids. 600 were taking opioids. You have pain that’s not going away because you have a problem with your disc. The most common prescribed medicine for a disc problem is opioids. You run the risk of becoming addicted, winding up in the hospital and potentially dying. That’s the effect that opioids have. They don't solve pain problems period they're running lives! 1.3 million visits to the emergency room, you don't have tom live with back pain. And you don't have to take the opioids.
