Back Pain Relief Tip: Don't Sit For Too Long!

We live in a culture of sitting. We sit at our desks at work. We sit while travelling by car, or bus, or plane. We sit at the dinner table. We even sit while relaxing such as when watching TV or reading a book. In fact, some may even say that sitting has become a requirement in our lives. And all of that sitting can be hurting your back!

The fact that our society has become one that sits more and more is one of the reasons that the number of people suffering with back pain has increased dramatically. It goes without saying, sitting for a long period of time can be bad for your back. But for many people, there is really not much of an option; because they need to sit to drive to work, and then sit at their desk all day, and then drive home. Sitting is unavoidable for them. So this week's Back Pain Relief Tip is simple: get up and move around more!

If you have stayed seated for 30 minutes or more, stand up and walk around for at least two minutes. Moving around in this manner is good for the back because it prevents stiffness which can lead to pain. By doing this as often as you can, you can relieve your back pain and prevent new pain from occuring!
