I recently wrote an article titled the best stretch for sciatic. In that article, I defined what I thought was the best stretch for sciatica. As many of you know I had severe back pain, pain down my legs, and at times I experienced a very difficult weakness in my legs. This was all the result of a really bad back problem (herniated disc) that I suffered with for over ten years. As a result of my condition and my persistence to solve my problem I developed a procedure to treat sciatica, Functional Disc Rehydration.
I suffered with my condition for years and had tried every possible procedure and program to fix my problem. After a while I sort of became an expert in sciatica stretches and exercises for sciatica. I spent many hours stretching, twisting and relaxing in hopes to try to fix my problem. Because of my personal experience I have been very prolific in my education on the condition and have written several posts about stretches and exercises…
These include the following;
- Sciatica Stretches - The Piriformis Stretch
- 5 Sciatica Pain Relief Treatments You Can Do at Home
- Do These Daily Stretches for Sciatica Pain Relief
- 6 Sciatica Stretches that Increase Flexibility and Pain Relief
- Top 4 Stretches for Sciatica Pain Relief
- Which Stretches for Sciatica are Best for Long Term Relief?
The comments I am getting from our patients and visitors to our website is this is great stuff, but we are getting confused. “Can you please try to make it less confusing?” As I look over the titles it starts to confuse me too, and I have had a little push back from my staff.
Our clinics have a team of healthcare professionals that come together and really work as a team. We call it team based healthcare; the bottom line is we are all involved in your care. Shortly after I wrote the article where I defined the best Stretch for sciatic, I had a meeting with my team. I discovered that my team felt like there were different exercises and stretches that they considered the best, and they want their opinions heard. I had my own favorite stretch because the stretch felt the best for me, but they had favorites too. They emphatically stated that specific exercises are better for specific people and not all patients and conditions are the same…
So we decided that yes there are at least ten stretches that should be considered the best stretches for sciatica. In an effort to make this all less confusing for anyone suffering with sciatic pain we compiled a list of the ten best stretches for sciatica. In the upcoming weeks we will begin to post the blogs about the ten best stretches for sciatica and include pictures. I have received several emails and comments from patients and visitors who wanted to see us how the stretches should be performed. They found it very difficult to perform the exercises and stretches by just reading the words and looking at the pictures, so we are making videos too. Rest assured these videos are finished and published. Click on the link below and sign up for your stretch videos.
We will be including them in the sciatica resource center. If you click on the button below you will be able to sign up for the tips and videos to help you eliminate your sciatica.
